CD-R: That stands for "Compact Disc..." something or other, right?

It's easy to think that you're all high-tech just because you own a cell phone that you almost always remember to charge. But all it takes is trying to figure out which kind of cd-r might be best to store your music on, or which DVD-R you want to transfer your videos to, to make you realize that you need some help.

That's what happened to me when I decided that one of my projects would be to transfer the photos and videos we have on our computer to something that was NOT our computer. We have, by my count, 1,800,000 pictures of the Babies!, and another 1,800,000 pictures of the cats, and well over a trillion picture of the Babies! with the Cats, and they're taking up too much room on our hard drive, so I wanted to transfer them to a DVD-R for permanent storage.

Only, I didn't KNOW that's what I wanted to do. I didn't know what to do, period. So I did what I always do: First, I tried to just bull my way through, figuring "It'll take care of itself." When it turned out that you can't trick computers into accidentally copying your pictures to something else, I got in touch with Shop4tech.com.

I first found Shop4tech.com because they were the cheapest place to get the materials I needed. They're an online seller of all kinds of digital equipment, including, in this case, the DVD-Rs and CD-Rs I needed to start permanently storing my pictures and music.

But what I liked better than low prices was the way they were able to really HELP me, both helping me understand what I was doing here, and how it would be best to do it, why some products were better than others, and why I might want to try different solutions. They've got excellent customer service, which is important. When it comes to electronics, I don't want just "Cheap," but I also want "Best," and Shop4Tech.com helped me figure out how to combine those two, so that I could start putting all my photos on DVD-Rs and get them to show on my TV.

Which means, if you stop by, I can show you over 1200 hours of pictures of the Babies! (Then we'll start on the cats.)
